SpeedChip's Intelligent Transportation System (or "ITS")
is designed to manage the flow of vehicles. Automated
traffic systems and parking lot controls create a
smoother flow of traffic and reduce the likelihood
of accidents.
On the road, the ITS provides real time
traffic information to allow traffic to be redirected
away from areas with problems. The ITS can also automatically withdraw toll
charges without cars stopping at toll booths.
In parking structures, the ITS supplies information
ranging from the number of spaces available on each
level of a parking structure to the traffic situation
outside the parking lot. It also improves traffic
flow by eliminating the need to stop before exiting
or entering a parking structure. The ITS can be
used in conjunction with other SpeedChip products
such as the SpeedChip Security System to allow entry
not only into parking structures, but also into
office buildings or schools.

The ITS improves traffic flow
by supplying real-time traffic information. This allows drivers
to choose alternate routes during high traffic. It also provides
authorities with information that can lead to a crack down on
problem areas before accidents happen. Less vehicles
sitting in gridlock means a reduction in vehicle emissions.
